Smithsonian 3D: Smithsonian Gardens 3D Orchid Collection Studies Bee Pollination
It’s amazing what 3D print technology can reproduce! The Smithsonian 3D Digitization Tumblr showcases the digital assets from all 19 museums, 9 research centers, and the National Zoo made available virtually through the Smithsonian Institution’s Digitization Program Office. This program also created the 3D collections of the Smithsonian Latino Virtual Museum, which features 3D interactive models of artifacts with interactive reference maps and web 3D books.
Browse Smithsonian3d.tumblr.com to explore more of the institutions digital collections through photos of completed 3D printed artifacts, video detailing the innovative ways 3D printing is being used, and fun animated gifs of artifacts being scanned.
